CONMETALL GmbH was established in Schwelm, Germany, as a 100% subsidiary of
the warehousing business C. DOBBERKAU of Celle, Germany.
1977
Head office moves to Celle and further subsidiaries are set up in Southern Germany.
1985
CONMETALL and C.DOBBERKAU merge as CONMETALL GmbH & Co. KG with its head
office in Celle. Company wide introduction of mobile data capture.
1986
Expansion across Europe through the establishment of subsidiary companies, joint
ventures and partnership contracts.
1992
Central depot in Celle is destroyed by a devastating fire.
1994
Opening of new distribution centre in Celle.
1997
CONMETALL and its packaging company CONPAC are taken over by the WÜRTH
group. Concentration on Celle as the company’s distribution centre.
1999
CONMETALL again wins third place in the "Customer service prize" at
the international Practical World trade fair in Cologne, Germany.
2000
CONMETALL completes its separation into Metals and Sanitaryware divisions.
2002-2003
Takeover of the insolvent Brauckmann company’s stock of connectors.
2004
Takeover of SCHÖSSMETALL construction industry activities.
